Who we are
Spending is published by Danut Florian. This policy covers the app, widgets, share extension, Siri actions and this website. Contact: support@thespending.app.
Your financial data
Expenses, budgets, categories, recurring items, people and settings are stored on your devices. When iCloud is available, Apple CloudKit may mirror this data in your private Apple Account container. We do not receive this data on developer-operated servers. iCloud availability is controlled in system settings.
Private Household Sharing
Sharing is optional and uses a private CloudKit invitation for one other Apple Account. The invitee shares eligible expenses with the inviter. The inviter’s expenses are not shared back unless they enable Share my expenses. Shared records may include amount, currency, date, category, note, merchant, source, creation date, recurring identifier and person. Budgets, receipt images, custom categories and locally added people are not shared. Disconnecting stops new sharing and requests revocation; previously imported history may remain until deleted.
Receipts, screenshots and Siri
Images are analyzed on-device with text recognition and, where supported, Apple models. You confirm suggestions before saving; images are retained only when attached to an expense. Spending does not directly connect to bank accounts or Apple Wallet. Siri is handled by Apple; the app receives the resulting expense values.
Purchases and services
Apple handles purchases, subscriptions and entitlement verification through StoreKit. We do not receive your card details. Apple’s privacy policy applies to iCloud, Siri and App Store services.
Website and cookies
This site contains no advertising, analytics scripts or tracking cookies. It stores only your chosen color theme in local storage. Cloudflare delivers the website and may process technical request data such as IP addresses and security logs under its own privacy policy.
Support messages
If you email us, we receive your email address and message to respond to your request. Do not include sensitive financial data. Support correspondence is kept only as needed to resolve the request and meet applicable obligations. Contact us to request its deletion.
Your choices
Delete expenses or erase data in the app, manage iCloud in system settings, and disconnect sharing in Spending. Pro includes CSV and JSON export. We cannot recover or delete financial data we do not hold. Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction or deletion of support correspondence and contact your data protection authority.
Children and changes
Spending is not directed at children under 13. We do not knowingly collect children’s personal information. Updates will be posted here with a new date; material app data changes will also be noted in release notes.
